Who We Are

We Get to be Ourselves

Part of the reason Salvagetti feels right has to be the people.

We love bicycles; That is the easy part.
But, on top of that, we want to teach you how to love bicycles.
This can be challenging, but we are up to the task.
And we hope you can appreciate that.

Meet the staff:

KEN is the general manager. His background is in making customers happy. He loves bikes, he loves Denver and he aims to take you to the next level of cycling. A great deal of his involvement is showing in our classes.

Ken recently got a Jamis Supernova. It fits his personality of being comfortable, but deceptively fast.

JOE is our product manager. He is running our demo fleet this year. He is a mountain man. He likes his bikes like he likes his (fill in the blank): strong and fast. He rides trails, he dirt jumps, he downhills. He also can explain it really well, without making you feel like you are talking to a dude-bro or a mechanical engineer who is learning English. Note: We aren’t aiming to offend either of the previously mentioned parties, but you two groups aren’t all that fun to talk to about bicycles.

Joe has recently become a higher up in COMBA, which we have been supporting for a while now. But, with his presence here, we will be even more active in the mountain scene. Participate and enjoy.

BRIAN is our service manager. He is meticulous and picky about getting his bikes just right, and will be the same way about yours. He rides it all, fixes it all and stays (mostly) happy the whole time.

Brian is planning on riding his road bike a lot faster this year. And as for the mountain bike, he has spent the last several months agonizing over his next choice. Nothing certain yet, but be sure it will be light, fast and singlespeed.

Brian’s bicycle history can be read here.

HANNAH discovered her love of bikes a long time ago. She had a bike stolen and replaced with a custom steel bike from Salvagetti way back in 2005. Her enthusiasm for the sport is what led her to eventually work for us.

This year, Hannah plans on conquering the mountain bike. She has a steel Jamis 29er that is going to see a great deal of dirt if she has it her way.

PHILLIP is one of the best wheel builders you will meet. You wouldn’t believe it because he is quiet about his wheel building prowess. If you take our wheel building workshop, you will understand just how much knowledge and skill he possesses.

He rides his many bikes very very fast and loves every minute of it. His bike of choice right this moment is the Generic Cycles belt drive single speed cyclocross bike he helped design. He uses different tires for different trails from super skinny to pretty well full on 29er tires.

This year he plans on riding more often and faster. Yes, faster than YOU.

SCOTT started Salvagetti in 2004. Over the years of experience prior to starting, he began to see a side of cycling that he didn’t love. Good and bad (as well as great, blah and awful) experiences as a customer and as an employee at several cycling shops made it clear that something had to be done. So, as the story goes, he leapt into the ring.

While he has only ridden Monarch Crest once, he loved it and has amazing pictures of the ride. Mountain biking is his calling and his reset button.

For 2009, Scott is riding a steel Jamis Eclipse road bike and on a quest to find a smokin’ hot new mountain ride for 2010.
