They aren’t the lightest.
They aren’t the most wiz-bang technical.
They aren’t a lot of things that people think they want.
Surly is for people who ride their bike(s). They are about making something you can pass onto your grandkids, so they know just how much of a badass you were (and probably still are).
Their bikes are mostly for riding around the city, but all of them (yes, even the Pacer) can handle a little dirt.
We love the Pacer because when we sell it, our customer is SO HAPPY IT HURTS! Maybe it is for you, once you are sick of all the marketing hype around “lightest, newest, fragilest”…
This is the Pacer Racer… we build these ourselves from scratch.
GEARED ROAD ACROSS THE WORLD?
The Long Haul Trucker (or LHT) is simply BA.
Yeah, that means bad ass. It is intended to be ridden all day long, with all the gear you need to live, then ridden again the next day. That mean comfort, toughness and utility. All things that will stay awesome long after your friends Specialized dies a horrid death. And now we have the Disc Brake Version, too for a little more moneys.
DIRT, ROAD and SCRAMBLED EGGS (Think Adventure Bike)
The Crosscheck really doesn’t know what the hell it is. It can be run as a geared all day long bike, or a get around town singlespeed/fixie, or we have seen it as a 1×9 townie too. Actually, one guy did all of those to one frame in a matter of 3 years. (Hi Cory)
YEAH, BUT WHAT IF I WANT TO GET A BIKE FOR ANYTHING
The Ogre is one of those bikes for the person who need to cover every possible base with one purchase. You could run it in an internally geared version or even as a mountain bike.
