Road Gloves

If there was one piece of clothing I would always wear on a bike

It would be shorts. But…

On a longer road ride, gloves can make the difference between numb, dead hands and happy alert hands. The right gloves are no substitute for proper fit, but they do help with a few problems that can arise from time to time. To get all of the benefits, you need to find the right glove.

1. A good glove will fit properly WHEN YOU GRAB A HANDLEBAR. Just feeling great on does not matter. The glove should not bunch excessively when you hold the handlebar or the hoods of your brake lever. Always try it out before you leave the store, or else learn the hard way. Or maybe you are super lucky…

2. Think about the conditions you will be using the glove. If you are riding early in the morning, Denver can beat up uncovered hands pretty badly. By the same token, a hot summer after noon up in the mountains can get a hot spot going at your hands. Select the gloves that will allow you to stay at a comfortable temperature.

3. And the last big consideration of a glove is whether the padding is in the right place and in adequate amounts. Some people require a bit more padding than others, while some do not want any.

Because of these factors, we carry Louis Garneau gloves. They meet these challenges head on. And they last for multiple seasons. Even their full fingered gloves work well for many morning road rides in Denver.
